X500 Inhibited Antifreeze
- Prevents freezing and hydrogen gas production
- Protects against scale and corrosion
Provides protection against scale and corrosion in all types of indirect heating systems, including those containing aluminum components, whilst preventing freezing. It is effective at preventing hydrogen gas production.
For best results, systems should be cleansed and flushed new systems and those up to 6 months old with Sentinel X300, existing systems with Sentinel X400.
The dosage of Sentinel X500 inhibited antifreeze will depend on the level of frost protection required. Five gallons of Sentinel X500 antifreeze added to a typical residential system up to 25 gallons will provide the minimum concentration of corrosion and scale inhibitor and also protection from freezing down to approximately 20°F.
This product is not suitable for heat transfer circuits of solar energy collector panels in which temperatures may exceed 392°F or be subject to periods of stagnation.

Applications
Sentinel X500 is a multipurpose inhibited antifreeze formulated to help control corrosion, scale, boiler noise and hydrogen gassing in all types of indirect heating systems including those containing aluminum components. This product is not suitable for heat transfer circuits of solar energy collector panels. Sentinel X500 is suitable for use in all waters, both hard and soft. The low toxicity formulation is colorless and easy to handle.
Dosage
Five gallons of Sentinel X500 added to a typical residential system of up to 25 gallons will provide the minimum concentration of corrosion and scale inhibitor and also protection from freezing down to approximately 20°F. The Sentinel X100 Quick Test Kit can be used to verify that this level has been reached. To determine the precise glycol concentration, a refractometer is required.
For best results, systems up to 6 months old should be cleansed and flushed with Sentinel X300.
Existing systems with Sentinel X400.
If the system is already noisy due to deposits in the heat exchanger, Sentinel X200 should be added together with Sentinel X500.
Feeding
Open Systems: Dose vie F&E cistern, via a by-pass feeder or use a dosing vessel.
Sealed Systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full use a dosing vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point.

FAQs
Can I protect to temperatures lower than 20°F?
Protection from temperatures lower than 20°F can be achieved by adding extra Sentinel X500. A dose of 40% of system volume will provide protection in a typical system to -3°F. Further information is available on the Technical Data Sheet.
How do I get Sentinel X500 into the system?
In open Systems: dose via the F&E cistern, via a by-pass feeder or use a dosing vessel.
In sealed systems: if the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, use a dosing vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point.
Can Sentinel X500 be used in areas with hard water?
Sentinel X500 is suitable for use in all types of municipal supply water, from very soft to very hard.
